LAKE WYLIE — Lighting the traffic signal on Charlotte Highway near Buster Boyd Bridge at Blucher Circle was waiting on the weather. On Monday, the light was lit.

Crews were putting the finishing touches of permanent pavement markings on Blucher Circle as the new traffic light flashed red in front of T-Bones, and yellow for Charlotte Highway traffic.

Danny Carns, traffic engineer with the South Carolina Department of Transportation, said the signal was ready to go electrically, but the permanent pavement markings still needed to be finished. The problem was weather. The striping won’t adhere properly unless temperatures stay above 40 degrees for about three days.

Brian Rollar with York Development Group, which paid for the signal to serve the Lakeside West shopping center, said two weeks ago “We’re just waiting for the weather to cooperate so we can put the thermo-striping down. That’s when SCDOT can come down and do the inspections.”

BSOM is the first independent music school in the Carolinas to roll out Yamaha’s highly respected programming. Starting February 3rd, BSOM will launch an array of Yamaha's renowned group music classes for children ages 4 to 7. Classes will be held on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, with additional classes to be made available upon demand.

BSOM invited the public to preview Yamaha classes during their open house event held on Saturday, Jan 31st (at Ballantyne School of Music, 11318 North Community House Rd - Suite 302 & 303) where more than 25 Ballantyne families congregated to the fleet of Yamaha pianos and enthusiastic Instructor Michael Lazenby. BSOM was joined by visiting Yamaha Director, Heather Luhn of The Real School of Music, a Boston-based authorized YMES school assisting BSOM with the launch. Heather hosted a parent Q&A session and it was an exciting opportunity for families to learn about the Yamaha Music Education programs from a true expert.

After 6 months of permitting and construction the Blue Olive opened early 2015 taking over their neighbors space.  Very cool lounge, nicely finished inside.
